Welcome

During the ongoing crisis in Israel, Friends of Ethiopian Jews stands with Israel and the Ethiopian Israeli community.

The continuing crisis in Israel has affected the entire population, including the 160,000 strong Ethiopian Jewish community.  With 80% of young Ethoipian Israeli men and 60% of young Ethiopian Israeli women serving in the Israeli military –  higher percentages than average –  the impact on the community is huge.  Over 250 Ethiopian Israelis families have been displaced and are living in temporary quarters.  They need meals, clothings, diapers and other essentials of daily living, which many Ethiopian Israeli organizations are supplying via a large contingent of Ethiopian Israeli volunteers.    Mental health counseling and resource referrals are also essential.  A hotline, counseling and information resource line were set up quickly by the Wuste Tzega Center for Culturally Adapted Psychotherapy and also the Association of Ethopian Jews (AEJ).   Please help now by clicking on the link below and making a special donation at this time.

Friends of Ethiopian Jews (FEJ) assists grassroots Ethiopian-Israeli organizations working for equality, education and employment for the Ethiopian Jewish community.  By supporting programs and projects led by Ethiopian-Israelis themselves,  FEJ helps empower the community.   Ethiopian Israelisa are in charge and make the decisions.   FEJ plays the role of supporting actor, fiscal sponsor, clearing house and referral center to Ethiopian Israeli leaders, activists and entrepreneurs who themselves are in the crucial leadership, decision-making roles.

Friends of Ethiopian Jews (FEJ) condemns racism and injustice in all forms.  We are now in our third decade supporting programs combating inequality and discrimination in Israel.

FEJ strives to help improve opportunities for Ethiopian-Israelis and to help create a just society in Israel overall.   All programs, projects and organizations supported by FEJ are led, managed, controlled or directed by Ethiopian Israelis themselves.    FEJ is dedicated to successful integration and full equality in Israel by supporting Ethiopian Israeli organizations, programs and projects that are grassroots, well-managed, financially sound and effective – and which are achieving measurable, successful results.

Currently, FEJ welcomes donations on behalf of these outstanding organizations:
